Learn how to think and play like a 19th century guitarist:
• Play Like an Orchestra
Guitarists from the 19th century mimicked orchestral instruments like the oboe, flute, trumpet and harp. Learn methods for how you can sound like an Orchestra. • Make your playing poetic:
These guitarists used simple ideas about accentuation to create a poetic way of playing. • Ornament like a boss:
Know your ornaments and how to add them to make your interpretation fun! What does the workshop involve?
• Practical exercises and information in 3 main areas of playing 1) Tone/Dynamics 2) Rhythm/Tempo 3) Ornamentation • One-on-one time to see how the information applies to what you're playing
There is no class like this out there!
• We're often taught the wrong information, making the music bland and uninteresting to play • This information can be applied to virtually any piece by Sor, Giuliani, Aguado, Tarrega, Mertz, Legnani, etc. Testimonials from the last workshop
"I believe each of us took away valuable new information and abilities to understand the music we love and choose to learn to play, and importantly in a more analytical approach. I would highly recommend your workshop to others looking for a better understanding and appreciation of guitar music." ---Deb "There’s something slightly magical about the knowledge you so passionately share with your students - I feel that understanding the principles of harmony in music is a bit like unlocking the secret inner workings of the universe! You have obviously put a huge amount of thought and effort into the topics and to the materials you provided." ---Sean |
